your Millz Megastars Camp Director/Counselor!

Mathea (mah-TAY-ah) will graduate from the University of Wisconsin River Falls in May 2018 with a major in Elementary Education and will be student teaching in Fall 2018. She has a passion for working with kids and inspiring them to do their best and help them grow not only as students, but as individuals. Mathea has many years of working with kids and summer camp. She worked as a program leader for the City of Lakeville Park and Rec Department for 3 years, where she helped lead diversified recreational programs including sports, games, nature, crafts, and special events for children ages 3-12 years of age. While attending college, she worked summers as a day camp counselor at Camp St. Croix in Hudson, Wisconsin. She worked with age groups from 4-12 years of age by grade level and specialty camps. She taught kids new skills, building self-worth, and learning the YMCA’s 4 core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. In addition to her camp experience, Mathea has classroom experience with elementary age children through her coursework at UW River Falls.
